A TRUE INDIAN

EXTRACT FROM THE JANMBHOOMI EDITION

Story is of Terror:
Agony is of muslim

I am a Muslim born and brought up here, studied here, grew up here and living happily with my family. This is my heaven. Today, I am a 65 year old man.

Today, it is a matter of great shame that the terrorists who had created recent chaos are supported by Pakistan and traitors within our own country. Such an act of terror is not possible without the active support of traitors inside. Pakistan is unable to tolerate the progress made by India and that we live happily. We and the people of Pakistan or Bangladesh are all brothers of one family. Just like water cannot be separated by beating with a stick, our hearts also cannot be divided. In the same family, brothers and sisters do not attain same level of progress and all of us get our happiness and sorrows in our life as per the wish of Allah and as per our deeds. Such jealousy and envy, hatred and vengeance are not good.

Many people defame our Chief Minister Narendraji Modi, but lot of Muslims in our State love him. He is only against anti-nationals and not against any particular community. Post Godhra incidents are natural and haven't 350 Hindus died then? Haven't 60-70 Muslims died in the recent cowardly attacks? Modiji had the courage and was the first one to come to Mumbai and declare help. We will go to the extent of saying that Chief Minister of every State; whichever government they may belong to ( there have to be other parties in true democracy ); should be like Modiji and so also the Prime Minister.
I have grown old but, if I get cooperation, I am self- motivated to sacrifice my life for my beloved country. I am ready to bombard the camps of traitors Dawood and Masood – for the sake of my country.

- Anees Mohammed

FATHER OF PLASTIC SURGERY
A genius who has been glowingly recognized in the annals of medical science. Born to sage Vishwamitra, Acharya Sudhrut details the first ever surgery procedures in " Sushrut Samhita ," a unique encyclopedia of surgery. He is venerated as the father of plastic surgery and the science of anesthesia. When surgery was in its infancy in Europe , Sushrut was performing Rhinoplasty (restoration of a damaged nose) and other challenging operations. In the " Sushrut Samhita ," he prescribes treatment for twelve types of fractures and six types of dislocations. His details on human embryology are simply amazing. Sushrut used 125 types of surgical instruments including scalpels, lancets, needles, Cathers and rectal speculums; mostly designed from the jaws of animals and birds. He has also described a number of stitching methods; the use of horse's hair as thread and fibers of bark. In the " Sushrut Samhita ," and fibers of bark. In the " Sushrut Samhita ," he details 300 types of operations. The ancient Indians were the pioneers in amputation, caesarian and cranial surgeries. JAMMU& KASHMIR......VOTING

The voters of J&K have c ome out in full stength to cast their votes. It is reprted that the voting percentage was close to 70 %.

Who gets voted in or voted out is not important, what is important is that they showed up in full strenght, despite boycot call from the seperatists.

Now is the time the Govt at the centre must respect the feelings of the Kashmiris and bring them in the main stream. Give maximum incentives to industry, be it manufacture, computers,BPO, education, health etc.

Kashmiris have trusted centre, we must trust them now and involve them in nation building so as to give them feeling of them being one of us....which they are.
Don't be surprised if one day the Pandits also are welcomed back in J&K.

I hope after the election results are out, dirty politics does not take centre stage, enabeling the seperatists to get active again.

ANTULAY.....RESPITE FOR A WHILE

Antulay may have been let off the hook but he has done enough damage.
He has not only emberassed the UPA but has actually put the moderate Muslims on the defensive at a time when both the communities have been at their best behaviour during the Mumbai terror crisis.
What has A ntulay acheived, one may ask?
Nothing except that he has made a fool of himself at an age of 80 when actually he should be playing with his grand-children and telling them stories about India's secularism.
Most of the Pakistani news Papers carried headline articles of our Antulay? He has given a first class tool to NDA with which it is going to hit UPA hard.
He has cleverly put UPA in such a spot that instead of sacking him,Home Minister had to give a statement in Parliament sying "wrong and deeply regrettable".
Time will tell if ,marginalised,Antulay will gain in the forthcoming elections due to his adventure.Surely, India has lost face on the world stage.
Moral of the story,, don't have useless people around only to get votes,, it can actually harm the establishment.India now votes only for development, proper delivery assurances, candidates and not parties.
General elections are not far .

BHASKAR KANAD(600 BCE)

FOUNDER OF ATOMIC THEORY

As the founder of " Vaisheshik Darshan "- one of six principal philosophies of India - Acharya Kanad was a genius in philosophy. He is believed to have been born in Prabhas Kshetra near Dwarika in Gujarat . He was the pioneer expounder of realism, law of causation and the atomic theory. He has classified all the objects of creation into nine elements, namely: earth, water, light, wind, ether, time, space, mind and soul. He says, "Every object of creation is made of atoms which in turn connect with each other to form molecules." His statement ushered in the Atomic Theory for the first time ever in the world, nearly 2500 years before John Dalton . Kanad has also described the dimension and motion of atoms and their chemical reactions with each other. The eminent historian, T.N. Colebrook , has said, "Compared to the scientists of Europe , Kanad and other Indian scientists were the global masters of this field."

STARTING TODAY,I WILL GIVE DETAILS OF OTHER INDIANS ALSO WHO COULD BE CALLED THE FOUNDERS AND PILLARS OF INDIA.

ARYABHATT(476 C E )

MASTER ASTRONOMER AND MATHEMATICIAN

Born in 476 CE in Kusumpur ( Bihar ), Aryabhatt's intellectual brilliance remapped the boundaries of mathematics and astronomy. In 499 CE, at the age of 23, he wrote a text on astronomy and an unparallel treatise on mathematics called "Aryabhatiyam." He formulated the process of calculating the motion of planets and the time of eclipses. Aryabhatt was the first to proclaim that the earth is round, it rotates on its axis, orbits the sun and is suspended in space - 1000 years before Copernicus published his heliocentric theory. He is also acknowledged for calculating p (Pi) to four decimal places: 3.1416 and the sine table in trigonometry. Centuries later, in 825 CE, the Arab mathematician, Mohammed Ibna Musa credited the value of Pi to the Indians, "This value has been given by the Hindus." And above all, his most spectacular contribution was the concept of zero without which modern computer technology would have been non-existent. Aryabhatt was a colossus in the field of mathematics.

13th Dec.........REMMEMBER???? B K Chowla

This day in the year 2001, Our Parliament was attacked by terroists.
The security forces got into action and countered the attack, thus saving the lives of hundereds of Politicians. If the terrorists had to succssed,God knows what would have been the end result and consequenses thereof.
Families of all those who laid their lives were promised money, petrol pumps, jobs etc and above all some respect.
Today ,to pay homage to those killed on 13th Dec,a function was organised outside the Parliament house.Of the total members numbering at appx 800(RS &LS) only ,and ,only 15 members attended the ceremony.More than rest of 780 + could not find time to come and pay homage to those who died on the 13th.This is despite the fact ,the memory of 26/11 and complete inefficiency of the Govt is still fresh in the minds of the Nation.
A blood donation camp was arranged today at the Parliament house,NOT EVEN ONE,member of Parliament donated blood. It was the security men who donated blood.
I am sure each one of the members must acted as per their inner voice .
What is even more shocking is the fact that all the promises made to the families of the dead have remained unfulfilled.Families have actually been forgotten.
This is how we respect our heroes.
This is the time when one would have liked to see Human rights activists,NGOs who get financial support from the Govt,so called secular forces and various high end, high TRP news channels to take up the cause of the families of the dead and inefficiency of the State.........no, no ,no each one of them have a seperate agenda......
If someone makes an issue of this subject..........well an inquiry commission will be appointed.......
one more in the list hundereds of inquiry commissions????
Between all this .........AFZAL GURU IS STILL ALIVE.

SELFISH..SELFISH..

Mumbai attacks took place on the 26th of Nov.
A lot of P3 and film personalties came out condenming terror.I was personally quite impresed by Javed Akhtar and Shaina NC.( not that others did not).
Some of the film stars decided to keep to themselves.
Fine.
What I can not understand is the timing of them coming out(after two weeks) and suddenly talk of condenming terror during "EXCLUSIVE"interview to different TV channels. Is it too much of co-incidence that the timing coincided with the release of their big budget movies? If it was so, I am sorry, it was in bad taste,Shamful and disgusting

RIGHT TO EMERGENCY CARE...SUPREME COURT JUDGEMENT

Most of us are not aware of our rights, as the systems have been so designed that the common man is not kept informed.
How many of us actually go through the Judgments and the implications thereof? Case in point is the following Judgment.

Right to Emergency Care:
Date Of Judgment: 23/02/2007.
Case No.: Appeal (civil) 919 of 2007.
The Supreme Court has ruled that all injured persons especially in the case of road traffic accidents, assaults, etc., when brought to a hospital / medical centre, have to be offered first aid, stabilized and shifted to a higher centre / government centre if required. It is only after this that the hospital can demand payment or complete police formalities.
In case you are a bystander and wish to help someone in an accident, please go ahead and do so. Your responsibility ends as soon as you leave the person at the hospital. The hospital bears the responsibility of informing the police, first aid, etc.
Please do inform your family and friends about these basic rights so that we all know what to expect and what to do in the hour of need.
Please not only go ahead and forward, use it too!!!!

WE STAND UNITED

Yesterday, the 11th Dec was a big day for India and it's unity which
was amply exhibited on the floor of Parliament.
Mr Chidambaram was at his best. He accepted the failures on Mumbai attack.Dr Manmohan Singh lmost apologised to the nation for Mumbai attack. Those who spoke with lot of confidence were Rahul Gandhi,Sanddep Dixit,Milind Deora. It shows that we need to bring in more educated members to parliament.
Mr Advani, despite his cold vibes with the Govt, was at his best when he said that entire NDA would support the Govt on any hard decision they take in fight againsr terror.

We compliment the Govt and the opposition for standing together in time of crisis.
However, what was disappointing was that there seemed to be less than 100 members in the Parliament to debate the issue. They did not send the right signal.
We hope the respective parties will pull-up their members and ensure they are present during important discussions.
It was a happy day yesterday.
Please do it again.

FROM TEHELKA MAGAZINE 13/12/08....AN EYE OPENER

Death Of A Salesman And Other Elite Ironies (SENT TO ME BY MY NEPHEW SACHIN UTTAM,WHO JUST RETURNED FROM SPAIN.....SEEMS QUITE CHARGED AND ANGRY)
TARUN J TEJPAL
ROHINTON MALOO was shot doing two things he enjoyed immensely. Eating good food and tossing new ideas. He was among the 13 diners at the Kandahar, Trident-Oberoi, who were marched out onto the service staircase, ostensibly as hostages. But the killers had nothing to bargain for. The answers to the big questions — Babri Masjid, Gujarat, Muslim persecution — were beyond the power of anyone to deliver neatly to the hotel lobby. The small ones — of money and materialism — their crazed indoctrination had already taken them well beyond. With the final banality of all fanaticism, flaunting the paradox of modern technology and medieval fervour — AK-47 in one hand; mobile phone in the other — the killers asked their minders, "Udan dein?" The minder, probably a maintainer of cold statistics, said, "Uda do."
Rohinton caught seven bullets, and by the time his body was recovered, it could only be identified by the ring on his finger. Rohinton was just 48, with two teenage children, and a hundred plans. A few of these had to do with TEHELKA, where he was a strategic advisor for the last two years. As Indians, we seldom have a good word to say about the living, but in the dead we discover virtues that strain the imagination. Perhaps it has to do with a strange mix of driving envy and blinding piety. Let me just say Rohinton was charismatic, ambitious, and a man of his time, and place. The time was always now, and in his outstanding career in media marketing, he was ever at the cutting edge of the new — in the creation of Star Networks, and a score of ventures on the web. The place was always Mumbai, the city he grew up in and lived in, and he exemplified its attitudes: the hedonism, the get-go, the easy pluralism.
For me there is a deep irony in his death. He was killed by what he set very little store by. In his every meeting with us, he was bemused and baffled by TEHELKA's obsessive engagement with politics. He was quite sure no one of his class — our class — was interested in the subject. Politics happened elsewhere, a regrettable business carried out by unsavoury characters. Mostly, it had nothing to do with our lives. Eventually, sitting through our political ranting, he came to grudgingly accept we may have some kind of a case. But he remained unconvinced of its commercial viability. Our kind of readers were interested in other things, which were germane to their lives — food, films, cricket, fashion, gizmos, television, health and the strategies of seduction. Politics, at best, was something they endured. In the end, politics killed Rohinton, and a few hundred other innocents. In the final count, politics, every single day, is killing, impoverishing, starving, denigrating, millions of Indians all across the country. If the backdrop were not so heartbreaking, the spectacle of the nation's elite — the keepers of most of our wealth and privilege — frothing on television screens and screaming through mobile phones would be amusing. They have been outraged because the enduring tragedy of India has suddenly arrived in their marbled precincts. The Taj, the Oberoi. We dine here.
We sleep here. Is nothing sacrosanct in this country any more? What the Indian elite is discovering today on the debris of fancy eateries is an acidic truth large numbers of ordinary Indians are forced to swallow every day. Children who die of malnutrition, farmers who commit suicide, dalits who are raped and massacred, tribals who are turfed out of centuryold habitats, peasants whose lands are taken over for car factories, minorities who are bludgeoned into paranoia — these, and many others, know that something is grossly wrong. The system does not work, the system is cruel, the system is unjust, the system exists to only serve those who run it. Crucially, what we, the elite, need to understand is that most of us are complicit in the system. In fact, chances are the more we have — of privilege and money — the more invested we are in the shoring up of an unfair state.
IT IS time each one of us understood that at the heart of every society is its politics. If the politics is third-rate, the condition of the society will be no better. For too many decades now, the elite of India has washed its hands off the country's politics. Entire generations have grown up viewing it as a distasteful activity. In an astonishing perversion, the finest imaginative act of the last thousand years on the subcontinent, the creation and flowering of the idea of modern India through mass politics, has for the last 40 years been rendered infra dig, déclassé, uncool. Let us blame our parents, and let our children blame us, for not bequeathing onwards the sheer beauty of a collective vision, collective will, and collective action. In a word, politics: which, at its best,

created the wonder of a liberal and democratic idea, and at its worst threatens to tear it down.
We stand faulted then in two ways. For turning our back on the collective endeavour; and for our passive embrace of the status quo. This is in equal parts due to selfish instinct and to shallow thinking. Since shining India is basically only about us getting an even greater share of the pie, we have been happy to buy its half-truths, and look away from the rest of the sordid story. Like all elites, historically, that have presided over the decline of their societies, we focus too much of our energy on acquiring and consuming, and too little on thinking and decoding. Egged on by a helium media, we exhaust ourselves through paroxysms over vacant celebrities and trivia, quite happy not to see what might cause us discomfort.
For years, it has been evident that we are a society being systematically hollowed out by inequality, corruption, bigotry and lack of justice. The planks of public discourse have increasingly been divisive, widening the faultlines of caste, language, religion, class, community and region. As the elite of the most complex society in the world, we have failed to see that we are ratcheted into an intricate framework, full of causal links, where one wrong word begets another, one horrific event leads to another. Where one man's misery will eventually trigger another's.
Let's track one causal chain. The Congress creates Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale to neutralise the Akalis; Bhindranwale creates terrorism; Indira Gandhi moves against terrorism; terrorism assassinates Indira Gandhi; blameless Sikhs are slaughtered in Delhi; in the course of a decade, numberless innocents, militants, and securitymen die. Let's track another. The BJP takes out an inflammatory rath yatra; inflamed kar sewaks pull down the Babri Masjid; riots ensue; vengeful Muslims trigger Mumbai blasts; 10 years later a bogey of kar sewaks is burnt in Gujarat; in the next week 2,000 Muslims are slaughtered; six years later retaliatory violence continues. Let's track one more. In the early 1940s, in the midst of the freedom movement, patrician Muslims demand a separate homeland; Mahatma Gandhi opposes it; the British support it; Partition ensues; a million people are slaughtered; four wars follow; two countries drain each other through rhetoric and poison; nuclear arsenals are built; hotels in Mumbai are attacked.
IN EACH of these rough causal chains, there is one thing in common. Their origin in the decisions of the elite. Interlaced with numberless lines of potential divisiveness, the India framework is highly delicate and complicated. It is critical for the elite to understand the framework, and its role in it. The elite has its hands on the levers of capital, influence and privilege. It can fix the framework. It has much to give, and it must give generously. The mass, with nothing in its hands, nothing to give, can out of frustration and anger, only pull it all down. And when the volcano blows, rich and poor burn alike. And so what should we be doing? Well, screaming at politicians is certainly not political engagement. And airy socialites demanding the carpet-bombing of Pakistan and the boycott of taxes are plain absurd, just another neon sign advertising shallow thought. It's the kind of dumb public theatre the media ought to deftly side-step rather than showcase. The world is already over-shrill with animus: we need to tone it down, not add to it. Pakistan is itself badly damaged by the flawed politics at its heart. It needs help, not bombing. Just remember, when hardboiled bureaucrats clench their teeth, little children die.
Most of the shouting of the last few days is little more than personal catharsis through public venting. The fact is the politician has been doing what we have been doing, and as an über Indian he has been doing it much better. Watching out for himself, cornering maximum resource, and turning away from the challenge of the greater good.
The first thing we need to do is to square up to the truth. Acknow ledge the fact that we have made a fair shambles of the project of nation-building. Fifty million Indians doing well does not for a great India make, given that 500 million are grovelling to survive. Sixty years after independence, it can safely be said that India's political leadership — and the nation's elite — have badly let down the country's dispossessed and wretched. If you care to look, India today is heartbreak hotel, where infants die like flies, and equal opportunity is a cruel mirage.
Let's be clear we are not in a crisis because the Taj hotel was gutted. We are in a crisis because six years after 2,000 Muslims were slaughtered in Gujarat there is still no sign of justice. This is the second thing the elite need to understand — after the obscenity of gross inequality. The plinth of every society — since the beginning of Man — has been set on the notion of justice. You cannot light candles for just those of your class and creed. You have to strike a blow for every wronged citizen.
And let no one tell us we need more laws. We need men to implement those that we have. Today all our institutions and processes are failing us. We have compromised each of them on their values, their robustness, their vision and their sense of fairplay. Now, at every crucial juncture we depend on random acts of individual excellence and courage to save the day. Great systems, triumphant societies, are veined with ladders of inspiration. Electrified by those above them, men strive to do their very best. Look around. How many constables, head constables, sub-inspectors would risk their lives for the dishonest, weak men they serve, who in turn serve even more compromised masters?
I wish Rohinton had survived the lottery of death in Mumbai last week. In an instant, he would have understood what we always went on about. India's crying need is not economic tinkering or social engineering. It is a political overhaul, a political cleansing. As it once did to create a free nation, India's elite should start getting its hands dirty so they can get a clean country. From Tehelka Magazine, Vol 5, Issue 49, Dated Dec 13, 2008

Among Muslims, Shia and Sunni kill each other in all the Muslim countries. The religious riot in Muslim countries is always between these two. The Shia will not go to Sunni mosque, these two will not go to Ahamadiya mosque, these three will not go to Sufi mosque, these four will not go to Mujahiddin mosque?.like this it appears there are 13 castes in among Muslims, Killing / bombing/conquering/ massacring/? each other ! The American attack to the Muslim land of Iraq is fully supported by all the Muslim countries surrounding Iraq ! One Allah, One Quran, One Nebi?.!
Great unity !
For Hindus 1280 books, 10,000 commentaries, more than one lakh sub commentaries for these foundation books, 330 million gods, variety of aacharas, thousands of Rishies, hundreds of languages,?still everyone goes to the SAME TEMPLE? whether unity is for Hindus or in others and never Quarreled each other for the last ten thousand years in the name of Religion.

TAKE ON PAKISTAN

Indian establishment must be planning to take on Pakistan in different ways.
Any normal human being feels frustrated and left out if he is made to feel socially and economically isolated.Common man in Pakistan ,perhaps,is also fed up with the dirty tricks being played by the Govt,ISI,LeT etc.It is always the people's power that prevails.
India should ban Pakistan artists who have almost made India their second home.I am refering to Pakistanis performing on TV in reality shows like comedy shows,Chat shows,Dance shows and some of the Pakistani cricketers are even endorsing some India health products. They should all be banned forthwith and sent back to Pakistan. This should also include some artists who are either singing or composing music(this should include those who have taken the Uk route to come).
Idea of doing so is that these people go back home and create an atmosphere of peace.I am told some of these artists have made the kind of money in India that they could have never imagined of in Pakistan.Their Govt must see them being isolated socially and economically.
This is only one step and so much more could be done besides of course bombing the hell out of Pakistan.

Will tough laws help fight terrorism?
There has always been a demand by BJP that India needs strong terror laws to fight terrorism. The concern is genuine. In a country like India where the legal system is so rotten that it is difficult to secure the conviction of ordinary criminals, one can not possibly think of conviction of terrorists who come with the sole aim to kill the innocent. The demand also needs consideration as there would hardly be any witnesses who will come forward to give statements against the terrorists. So it is clear that we need laws which do away with the normal procedure of criminal law in the country. The procedure which gives vast power to the investigating agencies and the police that it would be such an easy task to secure conviction against the terrorists. But the big question still remains. Will these tough laws be able to save the country from the cruel hands of blood thirsty terrorists? The answer is simple "NO". Unfortunately, the BJP and now the Congress, is harping that they will deal with the terror effectively by bringing tough laws. But one needs to understand that the tough laws come into picture only when the terrorists are done away with the brutal acts of killing the innocent. Do both the top political forces in the country want to say that they will first be waiting for the terrorists to come and kill people and then they will easily secure conviction because of these strong anti terror laws? The misfortune of this country is that no one bothers to look into the rot within. The terrorists can come and kill the innocent because they know very well that they can slip in easily by paying some hundred rupee notes to the person at the border. They know that the truck containing RDX and AK-47s shall not be checked by paying the same magical currency notes to the person who is in charge of checking the trucks entering in the city. The root cause of failing to tackle terrorism is not intelligence failure but the root cause is "corruption". When the terrorists know that the magic of currency notes can get them fake identity cards of educational institutions, one can not blame only the intelligence failure for the human tragedies that follow. Repeatedly, the courts have been directing the governments, both at the Centre and the state level to bring police reforms, but the governments have always failed. When an average policeman in the country works at least 18 hours a day and gets peanuts in the form of salary, it is foolishness on our part to expect that he will be able to guard the country from terrorism. When half of the police force remains busy in taking care of VIP security, it would be foolish of us to think that we are ready to take on terrorism head on. When your policeman are fighting terrorists with a substandard bullet proof jacket, obsolete weapons, the home minister of the country reveals how many NSG commandos have been sent to Mumbai to take on Taj, how can we keep dreaming in front of the shocking reality? In the era of global terrorism, when the terrorists have modern equipments and training, the need is to reform the system Mr. L K Advani and Mr Manmohan Singh. We, the citizens of this country expect better performance from the politicians. The politicians should be assigned the ministries because of the competence and not because that he or she is close to "10 Japath". Its time to look within and introspect, can be really blame the terrorists for attacks? Do we really need tough laws to tackle terror? The answer is simple, waiting to be noticed.

Strict laws always help.We already have laws to deal with terror. What we as a nation are lacking is the political will to deal with terror. If that was not so,there would not have been Afzal and the politics surronding Afzal.
Criminal justice system needs a complete change.Britishers gave it to us.They have changed their laws in Britain but we continue with the rot as it suits our political class.Blame game goes on between BJP&Congress.Whenever Congress finds itself cornered bang comes a reply" Kandhar to aap gaye the".
What we need is public awareness.Enough is enough. We should have stricter enforment of existing laws without political interference.

HEROES...

Sometime in the year 2005.
Some of us may remmember a gentleman by the name..KULDEEP SINGH.
Some may call him a hero.
Some may have forgotten him.
Some may have decided not to remmember him.
Some of us may want to know who he is?
Well he is the same DTC driver who saved lives of more than 50Delhi citizens in oct 2005.
This brave man threw the bomb out of the bus.
He has lost his eyesight, lost fingers of his right hand, hearing impaired. He needs support to walk.
What was he promised is not important. He has no money for treatment. All he has is assurances from CM Ms Dixit, assurances from DTC.Only thing he does'nt have is money to pay his medical bills.
Who cares.
If it was a case involving a political oppurtunity, a number of NGOs would have jumped into score points.
For political class,it is time to wake up.
KULDEEP SINGH is still waiting and has not seen his son who was born immidately after the incident.
He is still waiting and hoping he will one day see his son.
Not till this Govt pays his medical expenses, which were promised to him
Ms Dixit, elections are over...see if you can fulfill your promise to KULDEEP SINGH.

INDECISION....INDECISIVE

At a time when the nation is in a hurry to see action, our political class has not learnt any lesson.

Maharashtra is headless for the last three days.

In any democracy, people elect their leaders.Congress selects their's.

What message are we sending to the International community?

Financial capital could not prevent terror attack despite warnings.

Financial capital can't elect/select a Chief Minister and is headless .

It is a matter of being sincere to the job.Example is Chitambaram. He has taken his job as the Home Minister rather seriously.

Who will decide on the CM's name is well known. Why waste time having meetings.

Country is watching

Three airfields are being opened close to the Sino-Indian boundary.

I compliment the Govt for having taken this decision.
For whatever reasons,India ,1962,has been on the defencive when it comes to China. These are matters of strategy, diplomacy and a position at the world stage, hence it is better i dont go beyound this.
Instead, compliment for having taken a good step in national interest

letters @hindustantimes.com

Taking on Pakistan.

Zardari has snubbed India and clearly has no intention of handing over terrorists. Now what.?there is anger amongst people across the nation. It is not so much with Pakistan,it is with the politicians, which they must understand.People do see the heavy and light weight politicians moving around with heavy security ,which in fact was promised to the common man.It is now for them to take action and prove their worth before it is too late.Time seems to be running out for this day policy and policy makers. Both politician and beaurocrats.Common man is very very angry. This is a wake up call.I hope they hear the alarm bell is ringing. No amount of resignation is going to help.People have ,unfortunately, stopped trusting the Govt.I hope better sense will prevail.

Blasts continue to rock India: what should the Govt do? Read story

Three blasts in three cities in a span of three days. What should the Government do to tackle terror attacks?

Posted by bchowla at 05:03 AM, Sep 30, 2008

Let us accept that we are not capable of handling the problem of terrorism on our own.I am not saying this out of anger or desperation. It is a fact.
I suggest
1 Ask USA their measures after 9/11
2 Get Isreal to help us.
3 Dont worry what people say when you do the above.
In any case you dont care for what people say
4 UPA should immidaitely change their spokespersons.

Blast in Delhi: How can we fight terror? Read Story

Posted by IBNLive at 03:42 PM, Sep 27, 2008 in India

Fear returned to Delhi as a blast was reported from south Delhi's Mehrauli area.
Saturday's blast comes exactly a fortnight after serial blasts had rocked the country's capital, killing 54 people and injuring scores of others.
For millions, terror has become commonplace.
How can we fight terror?
What can the common man do?

Posted by bchowla at 04:37 PM, Sep 27, 2008

How can we fight terror? Can we ?
Except for living in fear there is nothing else that we can do.I am sure everytime a blast takes place,VIP security must be being raised. Can we fight terror?Who is WE?Your question should be .... Can the Govt fight terror?
YES, YES, the day they day they decide to forget about the coming elections, stop appeasement policy, take a hard stand, stop being called a soft state. Terrorists are playing cat and mouse game and we are having meetings, discussing what strict law do we need, make politiocal statements on and on and on.

Yes terror can be fought.
