2014.A DECISIVE YEAR

Election fever is at its peak which could be a decisive factor in strengthening or weakening of India democracy.
In 65 odd years, we haven’t had a responsive and reactive Govt for welfare of common man. Each successive govt has treated politics as business and calculated ROI on its investment. With Indian media available 24x7, man on the street is aware of the going on in the govt on corruption, back room deals, beaurocratic appointments, messing up our international borders etc. India is asking questions. Will the parties and their respective PM candidates..Kejriwal, Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi stand up and tell us of their...VISION OF INDIA?

Mr Kejriwal...
Can we depend on you when you decide to dump those who relied on you after 49 days of being in power, most of which was spent agitating? Do you recall, your entire campaign was focused on corruption and you claimed to have had proof against Sheila Dixit, Electricity, and Water? You have not disclosed sources of alleged foreign funding to your party. Can we leave India’s Governance in your hands?
Mr Kejriwal, is this your vision of India?

Mr Rahul Gandhi...
We accept, you have not been named congress PM candidate. However, should a situation arise, no one in congress will build up guts to stake claim for the top job.
How long will you take to change the system of which your family has been a part of for 55 years, which you keep blaming for all the ills in the country? We appreciate the sacrifices your family has made, but, isn’t it time to stop talking of sacrifices your last five generations and think and talk of prosperity India’s next five?
Should you form a Govt; will you free CBI of govt control and allow unbiased investigations? Will we see cabinet decisions being nonsensensed during a presser? In last ten years, you haven't spoken a single word on economic mess, foreign policy, border issues, governance and corruption. In support of Nirbhaya, thousands of youth were agitating, but, you were not visible. Do you have a road map to ensure constitutional institutions won't be undermined?  How would you handle a repeat of Cash for Votes situation arises again?  As per media reports, your attendance in Parliament has not been up to the mark nor have you asked any questions. Dr Singh can be blamed for the negatives of last ten years since he is the PM, truly, powers rested at 10JP.LPG quota was increased not in ministry, but on a dais. What contribution can one attribute to NAC in India’s governance or lack of it? What has been your policy for NE states? Perhaps, it is time to inform India of your agenda of minority appeasement? What good is an alleged spend of Rs 500 cr on image building if your senior members use words like Chaiwala,Napunsak,Yeda,Crushing media.?
Mr Gandhi, Is this your vision of India?

Mr Narendra Modi...
Amongst number of aspirants from BJP, you have been named PM candidate. If voted to power, we hope you will not let down the nation. India is looking for serious Governance, corruption free approach, justice for one and all irrespective of caste, community, religion or region. India wants secured borders, friendly neighbours besides due respect for the Armed Forces, Police reforms and judicial reforms, joining of rivers, creation of medical and educational facilities and health benefits. Power sector needs a complete revamp. Every aspect of governance needs to be cleaned up.
India is in ICU.Parliament has been non functional. It needs a bloodless surgery. Mood of the nation is towards a drastic political change. Going by media reports, BJP is likely to emerge as the single largest party. India might give you an opportunity to form next Govt. If you do not perform and deliver, India will not forgive you.
Mr Modi, we are ready to accept your Vision of India.

Let us CHANGE INDIA for INDIA OF TOMORROW

We have to wait for their respective
manifesto.

There are huge expectations from Modi. It will be difficult for him to walk the talk. But he is the best option available right now.
You raised pertinent questions.

S.R.Ayyangar,
Do manifestos have any relevance?Has any party looked at the manifesto after elections?

BK Chowla, said...

Alka Gurha ,
Sure, expectations are high as Modi himself has set high goals.
I have no doubt,he will perform.

When it comes to leadership, we are not exactly spoilt for choice. Right now Congress' sole agenda is to bring Rahul Baba to power.

Given the current crop, right now Modi appears to be the safest choice.

Even though Modi is a strong person, but nothing can be predicted in politics.

Yes Modi will make a strong PM but BJP too,has been embroiled in corruption.Sadly,we have little choice--till Kejriwal learns the ropes of good governance.

It is indeed difficult to believe and trust any political party in India. But looking at the present scenerio Modi appears to be the only and the best choice. The article is very well written and compels an intelligent mind to decide on their choice of candidate.

if you look at any political party press conference, you will find their henchmen pushing each other to appear on camera or to show how close they are to their leader.this one instance gives a clear picture of indian politics that people are very opportunistic, selfish and exploiting.

modi will be another kejriwal at centre ,like how kejriwal failed at state in matter of governance.modi is just poster boy like kejriwal was before election.indian politics is about opportunistic and exploitative regional parties which are part of upa and nda.modi is not going to interfere into day to day activities of state governments,so he won't be able to change much and he will have opposition within party coz he is junior compared to many seniors, with all these ego clashes and modi din't make any clear statement on scandals of bjp's yeddyurappa or reliance's ambani and sahara's roy.modi will be another conventional politician and he will struggle to deal with governance at centre coz he is not having any experience like kejriwal.

dealing state where you have established your power is easy compared to new platform called centre which is totally hostile to junior like modi.is modi going to stop black market that is causing inflation which is influenced by state government politicians,i don't think so.

am not pessimistic, but when i look at ground situation, the very indian citizens want free money and they want to live by cheating people.people who lived all these years by exploiting every opportunity to build wealth are not going to give up coz people don't change overnight.

yeddy is finest example of bjp's moral or ethos failure.they brought him back just for votes, how different is upa's kalmadi and modi's yeddy.they are just speaking parrots who lack actual vision or credibility.

since modi is only option for people, its like suicide, you may die or you may survive based on amount of poison you take.

kejriwal gave up his government coz he knows that dirty politics of bjp and cong will bring down his government soon after lok sabha election.so he din't had any other choice but to resign and contest again to not to lose vote base which he may not garner after lok sabha elections.aap might have got into politics after laying strong foundation for its party but they were in hurry like hungry beggars.for any political movement, one has has build strong institution before you deal with rogue politics.if i was in kejriwal place,i might have done that coz only a strong institution can bear every hurdle created by conventional rogue politicians.

Very fine analysis. We hope Modi can deliver the nation from the present mess.

Everybody's hope is on Modi now! Let us pray that he acts with conscience.

Hi BK,

This is a very good round up of all the prime ministerial candidates, the issues involving them, and our expectations. I personally don't believe they can do wonders except if they change their own political parties and make it clean, but I hope and wish that they surprise me for the sake and good of the country.

Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week ahead :)

This was a crisp analysis. Among all these; I feel Mod has good agenda for what today's India needs. Opportunities, employment, infrastructure...

Todays India doesnt need Right to Food, right to education..We have moved beyond that. Dont give freebies; give opportunities.

But its scary...whom to believe. Look who is in BJP in Karnataka. Yediurappa!

BK Chowla, said...

Insignia,
Bindu, precisely for thos ereasons India needs a decisive leader.I was shocked to see how Rahul Gandhi was being mocked by Pakistan Journos on Geo TV.Pakistanis were accepting that Modi in India is a reality and Pakistan has to be worried.
Last decade has been one of governance diaster
