NGOs ON FREE RUN

What is the correct terminology, I don’t know, but, PM Narendra Modi Government has put over 10000 NGOs on watch list and put on hold disbursement of their funds. For quite some time now, especially over last decade, there have been voices that spoke against these NGOs, but, were not loud enough fearing a backlash from Man Mohan Singh Government which in any case was being run from elsewhere. Perhaps, Government was being guided by institutions like NAC which were under direct control of Sonia Gandhi.

Overnight, India had more NGOs per thousand compared to number of policeman per thousand.

Allegedly these NGOs (?) were involved in anti India activities. They have not filed their returns over the years despite reminders after new Government took charge in 2014.Under prevailing FCRA rules, there are certain obligations NGOs have to fulfill, which they have not.

Is it too much of a coincidence that all those who kept gunning for Narendra Modi were funded by same foundation? Teesta Setalvad, Greenpeace, Arvind  Kejriwal, Indian Media ? List could be larger, much larger.

Question here is much larger. If the NGOs were not following the rules, were funding those who were into politics, were allegedly into anti India activities...why were they allowed a free run from 2004-2014? Who was patronizing them? Why was Election Commission, Income Tax deptt, Intelligence agencies not allowed to act against them? Who allowed anti India activities to carry on? These are some of the important and relevant questions. If the surface is scratched, quite a few important and powerful leaders (?) could feel the heat and embarrassment…..so be it.

Law of the land will hear and decide upon NGOs, but, before that Government must set up a time bound high level enquiry commission headed by a Supreme Court judge with clear terms of reference.

There cannot be any compromise on national security, irrespective of how high and mighty may have been involved.

Let us  CHANGE INDIA for INDIA OF TOMORROW.

Very important subject matter. The problem is "wealthy" NGOs are run by some of the VIPs. That is why, till now, no one dared to touch them.

Are you sure judges in India cannot be bought or influenced?

'Government must set up a time bound high level enquiry commission headed by a Supreme Court judge with clear terms of reference.' If this is followed, insisted upon to follow, we might see some heads falling down!

I follow greenpeace and sign in their petitions. Should I be more careful?

A significant step indeed. It is proof that Modi is personally looking into files and key financial issues.

Sadly the people running the NGO's are not to be trusted and hence it has all brough such a bad name to almost all the ngo's. I am sure there are some who doing a lovely job but its only a few that ruin it for everyone .. I do hope something gets done and people who are taking others for a ride are brought to justice

I worked with an NGO started by Kotak Bank.

They were busy collecting data all the time. The top management was doing
timepass. Project Head just didnt know what syllabus was being taught in which school.

The supervisor for spoken English program are mostly young girls who bunk
work and loiter in malls.

The teaching facilitators are also young girls who are in for some pocket money. They dont teach just do timepass, sit in class and then walk home after duty.

Everything else is different on paper and different in actual terms. I have seen the poor children suffer due to this NGOs horrible programs.

They were forced to learn Spoken English and had to attend classes after school. The kids had to walk back to school after eating lunch. And after walking so far
they had to sit idle and watch the timepass done by facilitators.

Its a shame. The project head gets lot of commission by taking kids on overnight camps, picnics and outdoor activities. The kids were forced to attend those activities. Most of the kids are daily wage labourers after school hours and they were loosing precious money and had to attend this camps forcibly.

Everything is tampered even the test scores and results of the Spoken English test. I can prove it you.

There is no accountability.
The rich getting richer and poor getting poorer
